This cocktail was created by Ramon Marrero Perez in 1954 at the Hilton hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Variation

This cocktail can be made in a blender. In that case, blend with a little crushed ice. To obtain a «CHICHI», replace the rum with vodka. The "Virgin Colada" is a non-alcoholic variant of this cocktail.
