The Kir Royal is made of champagne and crème de cassis. The origin of this cocktail goes back to the 1960s; Canon Kir, mayor of Dijon, was in the habit of offering his guests Bourgogne with crème de cassis as an aperitif.

Variation

This cocktail is a variant of the classic "Kir": here the champagne is replaced with white wine. The Mangue Royale is a reinterpreted version of the Kir Royal: the crème de cassis is replaced with mango cream.
