Preparation

  1. In an old fashioned glass filled with ice, pour the dash of absinthe and stir to flavor and chill the glass.
  2. Empty the entire old fashioned glass.
  3. Crush the sugar cube soaked in Peychaud's bitters in a mixing glass then fill it with ice.
  4. Pour the rye whiskey (or the Cognac) and stir for about twenty seconds using a spoon.
